In a strategic shift aimed at bolstering their bullpen, the San Francisco Giants have reinstated Camilo Doval as their primary closer, replacing Ryan Walker in the ninth-inning role. Manager Bob Melvin announced the decision following the team's recent loss to the Detroit Tigers, signaling a move to capitalize on Doval's exceptional form and address Walker's recent struggles.
Doval, a 2023 All-Star and former National League saves leader, has been in outstanding form lately.
