Heliot Ramos has emerged as one of the most exciting players in the San Francisco Giants' lineup in 2025. His journey from a young talent in Puerto Rico to a key contributor in Major League Baseball is a testament to his dedication and skill.

Born on September 7, 1999, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Ramos showcased his baseball prowess early on. Attending Leadership Christian Academy in Guaynabo, he gained national attention by earning MVP honors at the 2016 Under Armour All-America Baseball Game held at Wrigley Field. The San Francisco Giants recognized his potential and selected him 19th overall in the 2017 MLB Draft, making him the highest-drafted player from Puerto Rico since Carlos Correa in 2012.

Ramos began his professional career in the Arizona League, where he impressed with a .348 batting average and a .645 slugging percentage. His ascent through the minor leagues was marked by consistent performance, including a standout 2019 season where he batted .290 with 16 home runs across High-A and Double-A levels.

After making his MLB debut in 2022, Ramos faced challenges, including injuries and adjustments to major league pitching. He was optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento multiple times throughout the 2022 season. While with the River Cats, Ramos played in 108 games, posting a .227 batting average with 11 home runs and 45 RBIs. Despite the modest batting average, he continued to develop his skills and gain valuable experience.

In 2023, Ramos spent the entire season with the Sacramento River Cats, appearing in 62 games. He posted a .300 batting average with 12 home runs and 45 RBIs, showcasing his offensive prowess and solidifying his status as a top prospect. His performance earned him a call-up to the Giants in September, where he continued to impress with his consistent hitting and defensive skills.

The 2024 season saw Ramos begin once again with the River Cats. In 30 games, he hit .296 with 8 home runs and 21 RBIs, demonstrating his readiness for the major leagues. His impressive performance led to a promotion to the Giants on May 8, 2024, when Jorge Soler was placed on the 10-day injury list. Ramos seized the opportunity, contributing significantly to the team's success and earning a regular spot in the lineup.

In the 2025 season, Ramos has solidified his role as a key player for the Giants. As of May 28, he boasts a .288 batting average, 10 home runs, and 29 RBIs, with an impressive .835 OPS. His advanced metrics further highlight his offensive prowess, with a hard-hit rate of 46.2% and a barrel percentage of 13.5%.

Beyond his statistics, Ramos has delivered in clutch moments. On April 27, he executed a memorable "little league" walk-off home run against the Texas Rangers, showcasing his hustle and awareness. His contributions have been vital in keeping the Giants competitive in a challenging National League West division.

Looking ahead, Ramos's trajectory suggests he will continue to be a cornerstone for the Giants. His combination of power, speed, and defensive ability positions him as a potential perennial All-Star. As he gains more experience and continues to refine his skills, the future appears bright for this dynamic outfielder.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Heliot Ramos to see how he continues to impact the game and inspire fans with his performance.
